Something I wish to share!

When people talk about healthy lifestyle or calories in food, what do they mean?
Living healthy is not just about weight loss, it is about feeling good every day.

Healthy living is a lifelong effect. There are many ways to live healthily. It can be healthy eating, the physical activities, weight management, and yes, last but not the least stress management which can affect all the above three and can be the major reason of weight gain.

Now, if we talk about calories- what exactly is a calorie?

A calorie is a unit of measurement but it doesn’t measure our weight or length. Surprised, you must be now, you will say if it does not measure any length, weight, height or mass how it can be considered as a unit of measurement. Here is the answer – A calorie is the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. The concept as it relates to food and diet came about in the 1860s, based on the idea that calories are to our bodies what fuel is to fire.

We usually in our daily lives say that this particular food contains this much calories, it’s a way of describing how much energy our body can get from eating or drinking that food.

Calories aren’t Bad. The body needs it for energy, but yes too many of them, and not burning enough of them is alarming and is the major reason of weight gain.
