An adrenalectomy  is surgery to remove one or both adrenal glands. One adrenal gland sits above each of your kidneys. Your two adrenal glands produce various hormones that help regulate your metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and other essential functions. It is usually advised for patients with tumors of the adrenal glands. Tumors can develop in these glands, either from specific areas, or both the cortex and medulla. These can be either benign or malignant. The procedure can be performed using an open incision or laparoscopic technique. 

 Laparoscopic adrenalectomy can lead to less pain, scarring and shorter recovery time. There are no specific precautions one has to take after the Laparoscopic surgery, Infact, You will be able to walk around on the day of surgery itself and will be offered a normal diet from the following day and You will be able to resume your normal routine, including going back to work, within the next few days.
